Terrastack – Rural Land Intelligence
Scheme: Operation Dronagiri – under DST–GDPDC, Govt. of India
Sector: Agriculture
Powered by the Geo-Intel Lab, IITTNiF, Terrastack integrates climate stress and agricultural productivity analytics at the land-parcel level into its existing rural land intelligence stack. Our products enable lenders and insurers to better assess farm risk, and can help government agencies deliver targeted DBT support, disaster relief, and improved credit access at both state and national scales through deep geospatial models and user-friendly interfaces.
Problem Statement
- How to identify farmers most vulnerable to dry and wet spells?
- Which farmers are in most need of targeted DBT and support schemes?
- How to guide better water and energy planning using village-level insights?

Our Solution
Plot Reports
Map View
Granular assessment of land, crop, and climate factors to identify farmers vulnerable to droughts and floods. Ideal for institutions seeking farm-level insights to target DBT support, evaluate creditworthiness and provide insurance. Available at https://www.terrastack.ai/report post sign-up.
Plot/village-level visualization of drought, flood, and crop vulnerability through dynamic heatmaps and statistics. Ideal for policymakers, lenders, and administrators seeking clear, data-backed insights to identify at-risk farms, and plan village-level interventions. Available at https://www.terrastack.ai/mapview post sign-up.

These product interfaces have been designed in alignment with Operation Dronagiri, showcasing the use of geospatial data for agricultural resilience and digital governance. They also contribute to the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 through data-driven rural intelligence.
Current Pilot Status: Ongoing (Washim, Maharashtra)

Impacting over 12,000 farmers across initial pilot regions through vulnerability mapping and targeted DBT support.
Enabling coverage of 10,000+ farm parcels through geospatial mapping and vulnerability assessment.
Expected to improve accuracy of beneficiary identification by over 15%, reducing misallocation of relief funds.
Contribution to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

Enabling efficient water resource management through groundwater and surface water mapping

Supporting early identification of vulnerable regions and informed adaptation to climate risks

Promoting data-driven, climate-resilient agriculture to enhance productivity and food security
